A Celebration of William Soutar - 9.45 - 10.30 with Dr Paul S Philippou, Dr Phillipa Osmond-Williams and Ian Spring. William was born in Perth in 1898 and educated at Perth Academy and Edinburgh University. He served in the Royal Navy during WW1 where he fell ill with spondylitis, and later became housebound. Today we celebrate his poetry, written in both English and Scots, in an event curated by Tippermuir Press. www.williamsoutar.com

He has recently been appointed to the Centre for Scottish Culture, University of Dundee.
Our thanks to the Poetry Association of Scotland for sponsoring this event
